Steve Brine dropped into The University of Winchester on Saturday 19th September with a hive of excitement on the main campus as the main campus a hive of excitement as thousands of students poured in for the annual Fresher's Fayre.

The highly anticipated event saw the University's societies and sports teams advertising themselves for new members, highlighting what they get up to and what they can offer.

Ross Playle, the Chairman of Winchester Students' Conservative Society, and his team were rushed off their feet for most of the day speaking to students and prospective members, while Steve Brine spoke to dozens of students new to the city.

Ross said: "It was great to have Steve on hand, he loves engaging and chatting to the students; it's quite impressive as this is his 9th year here!"

Steve added: "Another awesome occasion, and well done to Ross and his team for putting on a stunning stall. As ever, it was so interesting to speak to new students, and hear about their hopes and aspirations for their time at the Uni and beyond."

The busy stall also conducted a poll, surveying students on the recent Labour leadership election. The question posed asked students what they thought about the prospects of new Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn becoming Prime Minister, and interestingly the final result saw Mr Corbyn narrowly rejected by 107 votes to 86.
