Winchester MP Steve Brine met with David Rogers, Governor of HMP Winchester, for their first formal discussion since Mr Rogers took over the running of the Romsey Road prison.
As well as discussing the issues which may be present in the forthcoming Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) report, due out later this month, they spoke about the implications of the move of the police HQ site next door, and the continued use of mobile phones.
In addition, they discussed changes to probation, particularly with regard to Steve Brine's work on the Justice Select Committee, and Mr Rogers updated the MP on the replacement of the prison gym.
