Winchester MP Steve Brine met with Youth Options on Friday 2nd May to discuss youth provision across the city, and how they could work together.

Youth Options was established in the late 1930s, with the key aim to provide help and support for the young people of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. They do this through activities and social education programmes, which develop, inform, educate and entertain in an atmosphere of honesty, fair play and responsible concern for themselves and others.

Steve met with Chief Executive Mark Dixon, and one item which came up was KAYAC in Winnall and plans for its future.

Speaking afterwards, Steve said: "Mark is someone I've known of for many years but we'd never met until we were sat together on the Hampshire Chronicle table at the recent Fulflood Ball.

"I really like the professional way Youth Options runs its business and the things it is able to do for the community and voluntary sector in Winchester, and further afield across Hampshire, as a result.

"There was also useful discussion about KAYAC which is an important facility in my constituency and I know we're both keen to see it revived and improved."
