The City Road centre opened on Wednesday June 9 and promises to provide much-needed local residents with a first class service.
WeLCOMe will be managed by Dr Chaw Su Kyi, who already runs a successful centre in London. She gave Steve a guided tour where he met staff and was told about some of the innovative techniques they use.
Speaking afterwards, Steve said: “This is a tremendous new facility for Winchester. I’ve long campaigned for better NHS dentistry in the city and its’ all credit to the Primary Care Trust for investing our money so wisely. Good dental care for children is something we need to get right from the start otherwise bad habits become the norm very quickly and many people, especially those on the lowest incomes, see the dentist as a luxury they often cannot afford. I wish the team every success.”
