Steve Brine visited the Terrence Higgins Trust on Monday 20th November to mark HIV Self-Testing week.

The Health Minister discussed a range of topics at a roundtable meeting, with people of all ages who are living with HIV, some of whom have been infected for decades.

They discussed PrEP, a drug which NHS England is currently trialling which prevents the virus being passed on, and the stigma of living with the condition in both society and in the workplace, particularly amongst the older service-users who were diagnosed in the 1980s when AIDS was seen as a death sentence.

Speaking afterwards, Steve Brine said: "This was a very valuable visit today, and it was good to meet the team and get tested at the start of HIV Self-Testing Week."
