Steve Brine has arranged a special meeting between Stagecoach and Youth of Winchester (YoW) dedicated to improving local bus services.
Steve said: “The idea of a 'bus summit' was something I promised young people at the General Election so it is great to have a date fixed and Stagecoach taking part.
"Youth of Winchester are really knowledgeable about bus services in the area, mainly because of their heavy reliance on them. They have a great number of views on how to make them better, including some very simple things which need not cost money.”
Steve met YoW in the Summer shortly after his election as Member of Parliament and pledged to arrange the meeting for young people in the city and surrounding villages.
The summit will be held on Thursday 9th December at the Stagecoach Bus Depot in Bar End and will be attended by Andrew Dyer (Managing Director of Stagecoach Bus), Richard Tyldsley (Operations Manager for Stagecoach in Hampshire based at Winchester Bus Station) and representatives from YoW.
Steve continued: “I am delighted that everyone is coming together to air their views, particularly on the issue of new fares for post-16 bus travel, and I am sure the event will be of great benefit, not only for young passengers but also for Stagecoach managers themselves.”
