New Winchester MP Steve Brine will champion the cause of autism in Parliament after being made Vice Chairman of an influential group.

The All Party Group for Autism works with the National Autistic Society and exists to bring issues around the condition before Ministers and raise the profile of campaigns among Members of Parliament.

Speaking after the group AGM Steve Brine said; "Everyone knows one of my main interests is health but that is not all about hospitals and primary care.  I've met a good number of people in Winchester who suffer from autism or are struggling with education for their children with the condition.

“Through the new group I hope to bring many of their issues to the attention of Government including access to secondary and post-19 education locally because we are not doing well enough at the moment in too many cases."

If you are affected by the condition, please get in touch via [email protected] or 01962 791110.
