Steve Brine had the honour of opening the East Stratton Fete on Saturday June 5.
As well as being introduced to lots of villagers by Lord Northbrook, Steve also met with the Dever Society, who had a stand at the annual event. In what is already becoming tradition, he was also cooled down with wet sponges in the stocks before taking home a Shirley Hughes book for little Emily.
Speaking afterwards, Steve said: “The family and I have attended the East Stratton Fete many times in recent years and this time was as good as ever. They always seem to pick a gloriously sunny Saturday in June and this thoroughly English affair had all the usual ingredients to make sure everyone had a great time – including me!”
