The village put on its usual huge effort to raise funds for St Mary's Church including; a grand draw, an auction, a dog show, BobKart racing, brass band, tug of war and even Sumo wrestling!
Steve attended with his family including wife Susie and children; Emily, William plus Popcorn the dog. As well as opening the event just after half-past-one, the MP and his kids handed out rosettes from the BobKart races and even spent time serving at the bar.
Speaking from the event he said; "I really enjoy this event and it's one we always attend so it was a special treat to open it this year. It has to be said, I've opened a few fete's in the past five years but to do one with the support of a fly-past from nearby Popham was a first for me!
"Well done to the organising committee but especially to David Mason who has only recently moved to the village and taken on the chairmanship."
