Steve Brine was on hand on Saturday afternoon to formally open this year's Sparsholt fete, as organisers and local residents enjoyed the summer sunshine.
Also dropping into Sparsholt Manor was Winchester's new Mayor, Barry Lipscomb.
As well as saying a few words to welcome everyone to the annual event, Steve rolled up his sleeves and joined helpers serving tea to thirsty punters.
Steve said: "After joining in with the Hat Fair, I really enjoyed popping into Sparsholt to take in the fete and have a cuppa! The organisers did a wonderful job, and I know that the Hampshire Chronicle had a photographer out snapping everyone having fun.
"I'm delighted to hear that the fete appears to have raised over £6000, and I'm really looking forward to next year already."
