Prospective Conservative MP for Winchester Steve Brine was in Alresford today (Saturday 24 January 2009) to hold a ‘Street Surgery’ with local city councillor Ernie Jeffs.
Steve, who lives just down the road, spent the morning on the corner of Broad Street/West Street meeting residents of the town and chatting with Saturday shoppers.
He said; “It was certainly chilly but we stocked up every now and then with coffee from Caracolli and thoroughly enjoyed the session. Alresford is always bustling on a Saturday morning with people grabbing the weekend papers etc and they are keen to chat. The response was really positive and we get the message loud and clear that people want to see the back of Gordon Brown’s Labour Government!
“We had a wide range of local and national issues raised, from overgrown trees to the recession.”
If you missed Steve Brine and Ernie Jeffs this week, don’t worry they will be back shortly and you can always email as follows if you have any issue you need to raise or comment you wish to make:
