He heard for himself about the exciting Soccer School at the Hillier Way venue, and with it being half term saw a number of youngsters taking advantage of the facilities at the club, nicknamed The Capitals after the city's ancient heritage.
Speaking afterwards, Steve said: "This is real football club, and has that very special atmosphere football fans everywhere will recognise.
"The club is making great strides in the community, and I really enjoyed hearing about, and seeing for myself, the Soccer School which gives local kids (and their parents) a great opportunity in their holidays."
