The 2010 Wessex Children’s Book Festival, which runs through until Sunday 31st October, will be fun-packed with activities and authors and illustrators for all ages. Come along to Winchester Discovery Centre and meet your favourite book characters and their creators. Among a sparkling host of authors will be Jacqueline Wilson, Lauren Child, Nick Butterworth, Axel Scheffler and Anthony Browne, the Children’s Laureate.
Steve said: “I hold most of my constituency surgeries here at the moment, and I have long been impressed with the energy and efficiency shown by the Discovery Centre. It has been fantastic to drop in today with Emily and really enjoy ourselves.
“I know Emily really loved storytime, and was delighted to meet Maisy, and I hope as many youngsters as possible get to come along this half-term week.”
As well as all our fantastic author events, there will be jugglers,face-painting, balloon making and hair-braiding – activities and entertainment to suit children of all ages.
Courtesy of P&G Wells, the local Winchester bookshop, there will also be an amazing array of books to buy – a great idea for Christmas!
