Winchester MP Steve Brine dropped into St Paul's Church today as it completes its renovation.
Throughout this year the church has undergone substantial works after many years of fundraising.
Steve says; "I have been told for years about plans for the re-birth of St Paul’s and bought many a cup of tea/hot dog at your Community Day each Spring to support the ambitious plans for its transformation.
"So pleased I finally got the chance to drop by and take a look for myself and was blown away by what’s been achieved. The holy spirit truly has been at work on St Paul’s Hill this year and what a symbol of hope you have to emerge from the wreckage of 2020. Many congratulations to Rev Peter and the entire team for steering what is a triumph of community action to create something that will serve you all for many years to come."
Steve was shown around by Rev Mary Copping and Churchwarden Chris Seaman.
It is hoped to hold a celebration for the whole community in 2021 when the rules allow.
