Steve Brine MP today visited DHL Parcel UK in Chandlers Ford to tour operations and discuss the company’s recent growth and contribution to the local community.
The MP visited the DHL depot in his constituency to meet the 59 people working on site and delivering parcels in the local area. The depot provides a vital service for local businesses and constituents who rely on DHL for e-commerce deliveries and collections.
The 85,000 sqft site opened in November 2020 with an investment of over £7.5m to serve Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh and surrounding postcodes with up to 17,000 parcels a day.
Steve Brine MP said: “Logistics plays an integral part in our daily lives, keeping vital supply chains moving and delivering to our local businesses and homes. I was delighted to meet the team at the local DHL Parcel site to understand more about their business. The company’s recent investment in the area has brought jobs and ensures our local community is effectively connected within their UK network.”
Neal Sumners, CIO, DHL Parcel UK said: “We were delighted that Steve Brine MP has come to visit this key site for our operations and very much welcome his interest in DHL Parcel UK and our future. This is a relatively new site that opened at a critical time, enabling us to better support the local area when it was most needed. We’re proud to be able to make a contribution to the area through jobs and serving local residents as online orders continue to grow.”
