Steve Brine MP joined supporters and members of the Friends of St Cross Hospital for their spring garden party in the grounds of the historic hospice.
The group, which recently celebrated their 10th anniversary and have raised over £150,000 for Britain's oldest almshouses, originally founded in 1132, was joined by their MP for drinks and canapes.
The Winchester MP said; "It was so nice to catch-up with John Pringle from the Friends of St Cross and the legend that is Alistair Bruce at their Spring garden party this evening. We all feel so lucky to just be here."
Friends of St Cross is now into its eleventh year, having launched in 2011, and is an independent charity which seeks to assist the Trustees of the Hospital in funding the maintenance of the property and ground-works within the Hospital precincts. In addition, they organize activities to widen the appreciation of the historical and architectural significance of the Hospital buildings and gardens, and support the Hospital's role as an active community of Brothers.
