Steve Brine MP said; “The relationship between the King and the House of Commons is important as it links him to every single person in our country. So it was important, at the start of this important week, for His Majesty to come to Westminster today.

“It was a huge privilege to meet the King in this week of his Coronation. We discussed his visit to Winchester last year when he unveiled the Licoricia statue in Jewry Street and he said how much he enjoyed visiting the city.

“Of course King Charles’ predecessors, albeit before William the Conqueror, were crowned in Winchester!”

Steve Brine also met the Queen Consort later during the reception.
