The event heard from a cross-party group of MPs who are backing Andrea Leadsom's 1001 Critical Days Manifesto, which presents a vision for the earliest years.
The subject is of huge interest to Steve Brine, and the Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP spoke on the subject at a speech at the AGM of Home-Start back in the summer, a local organisation the Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP was quick to praise in the debate.
Andrea Leadsom said: "The 1001 critical days is the period of time from conception to the age of two. In our cross-party manifesto... [we] seek to recognise the overwhelming evidence now available that a secure early relationship between baby and key carer is vital to the infant's lifelong emotional and physical well-being."
Speaking afterwards, Steve Brine said: "It was an honour to take part in this key debate, and I am proud to be part of this group. Early years is something that I am extremely passionate about, and I would be delighted to hear from any constituents who wished to discuss this further."
