A group of students from the University of Winchester visited Parliament on Wednesday 14th October, to take in some debating in the House of Commons and meet their MP.

The Winchester Conservative Students' Society, led by Ross Playle, watched keenly from the gallery as MPs debated both the Cities and Local Government Devolution Bill and the Charter for Budget Responsibility, before they met Steve Brine, who is also their Patron, for a drink and a catch-up.

Speaking afterwards, Ross Playle said: "Being able to see our parliament in action was an amazing experience with every member of the group thoroughly enjoying the trip. While silence has to be kept in the viewing gallery the experience was made particularly special by seeing Steve stand up and speak in the debate leading to silent cheers among the group!"

Steve added: "It was great to meet the society up here in the House, and I am delighted they got to soak up the very passionate debating in the Chamber. They have many new members this year, and I was delighted to be able to meet all of those who were able to make this special trip."
