Tom Barclay (pictured with the Prospective Winchester MP) and his older brother Sam want to raise more than £5,000 for the children’s hospice by cycling from John O’Groats to the charity’s HQ in Sutton Scotney.
Tom, who is the found and MD of Jewry Street-based Sattom Media, said they are hoping to cover the 731-mile route in just eight days. But the 20-year-old said he is still looking for people to come forward and sponsor him to help fund part of the trip.
Speaking about Naomi House, Tom said; “It’s a charity that’s close to so many hearts in Hampshire. Everyone knows how much good they do.
“I’ve been concentrating so hard on setting up my business, but when I heard about Naomi House losing their money (in the Icelandic bank crisis) I felt I had to do something.”
Prospective Winchester MP Steve Brine added; “I met up with Tom recently and was hugely impressed with his drive and energy. I am doing all I can to help them smash their fundraising target and wish them all the best. Naomi House needs all the support it can get, especially while we continue our efforts to help them in the wake of the £5.7m tied up in Iceland.”
