Steve joined TV presenter Sangeeta Bhabra and her fellow Meridian Tonight presenters at ITV Fixers' Southgate Street office to meet a very special group of youngsters.

ITV Fixers introduces young people to the world of volunteering by inviting them to ‘fix’ something they feel strongly about, the only proviso being that it must benefit at least one other person. To date, they have almost 3,000 Fixers and between them they have created over 400 projects.

Some projects have been practical, for example, doing up a community minibus or creating a garden while others have campaigned for specific things such as a beach to be reopened or cheaper fares on public transport. The range of topics dealt with are all subjects close the hearts and minds of young people today and each individual project is driven by the Fixers themselves.

Steve said: “You can immediately see when you meet the ITV fixers team what a simple service they provide and I was hugely impressed with the set up in Southgate Street, Winchester.   It was humbling to meet some of the young people who have recently made films for the ‘fixers’, they are all going places if their own very individual ways.”
