Steve has welcomed a Private Members' Bill that seeks to examine the evidence regarding potential benefits of putting the clocks forward by one hour.

The Daylight Saving Bill 2010-11, tabled by Conservative MP Rebecca Harris (Castle Point) was presented to Parliament for the ‘First Reading’ on 30 June 2010. The Bill will now proceed for a Second Reading debate on 3 December 2010.

Steve said: “I very much welcome the Bill and any evidence-based analysis which promises to put this debate to bed once and for all, whatever the outcome.  For us locally it has to revolve around the effect on business, especially farmers and the safety aspects affecting our kids going to and from school.”
