Steve joined up with some Flowerdown residents to see for himself the benefits of insulation for park home residents, on Friday 5th November.
Around 120,000 people across the country live in park homes, which tend to have less energy efficient heating methods than those who live in brick homes. Generally, resident have used more expensive bottled gas, with oil and electricity, and the financial costs have been as high as the environmental implications.
National Energy Action have been working to help park home residents heat their property more affordably, and have just helped insulate six homes on the Flowerdown Mobile Park Home Site as part of a larger Warm Front trial, which is covering nine such sites nationwide.
Steve said: “There are a number of park homes across Winchester & Chandler’s Ford, and I know how expensive heating costs have been. As we move deeper into winter, I am glad to see some residents here in Flowerdown will benefit from the work of NEA and Warm Front.”
