Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP Steve Brine joined city Mayor Richard Izard opening the new Iosis dental practice on Friday 11th February.
Steve joined the ceremony straight off the back of speaking at the Barton Farm/Cala Homes inquiry at the Guildhall on a typically busy Friday in the constituency.
Iosis has been treating patients since early September, and already has over 5000 patients registered. Open from 8am-8pm 7 days a week the practice makes good use of modern IT and is one of very few dental practices in the UK which allows appointments to be booked online. Since September, 2700 patients have registered with the practice using the web. This is yet another way in which Iosis Clinic offers choice and convenience to its patients.
Dr. Hariri, the managing director of Iosis Clinic said: “We are very pleased with how the practice has developed. The opening event is an opportunity for us to celebrate the very hard work that my team have put in over the last 18 months, and also thank our patients who have given us great support in these early days. Winchester is a central hub and we get a lot of patients coming from the surrounding towns. We have no geographical restriction on our patient list and are happy to see patients from further afield."
Dr. Sadeghzadeh, clinical director commented: “In 2011, we are planning a whole series of community events, when we would work with community groups and local charities to raise awareness of oral health and the importance of preventative dentistry. Most dental problems are easily preventable if patients come and see us on a regular basis.”
Steve added: "I know from my constituents how much demand there is for NHS dental services so Iosis are very welcome indeed. I think they will be very busy from day one!"
