Although the popular eaterie didn't quite make the Grand Final, where 12 restaurants from across the UK will compete in a cook-off in the House of Commons, Shapla will receive a certificate and embroidered chef jacket to mark their achievement this year.
Steve Brine, who nominated Shapla, said: "I am delighted that Shapla has been Highly Commended in this year's Tiffin Cup. It is unfortunate that they didn't manage to reach the Grand Final, but this is a very prestigious award and to be honoured in this way is testament to the fantastic efforts of all the staff."
Organiser Keith Vaz MP added: "We are very pleased that Shapla has been Highly Commended in the Lyca Tiffin Cup 2011. This is a great tribute not just to the nomination of Steve Brine MP but to the constituency of Winchester & Chandler's Ford as a whole."
