The Heritage Lottery funded project at Winnall Moors Nature Reserve recently featured on one of the popular programmes. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust showed water voles busily feeding and gathering nesting material for their burrows as the show examined the signs of spring along the River Itchen.
Steve said: "I'm delighted that the reserve at Winnall Moors has been nominated in this new competition- particularly something as prestigious as Countryfile. We are truly blessed here in Winchester with such a rich and diverse heritage, and I am still discovering so much more on an almost daily basis, even though Susie and I have lived here for so many years.
"I do hope local people will support this nomination by voting for the excellent restoration work going on in the area."
