A family afternoon in East Stratton

Steve dropped in to the East Stratton on Saturday afternoon, as Winchester's new mayor, Barry Lipscomb, did the honours opening the annual fete.

The entire Brine family were out in force, and joined in the fun as everyone enjoyed the gorgeous sunshine. Steve was able to cool down as, in what is swiftly becoming tradition, he got a soaking after being placed in the stocks!

Steve said: "I was over the moon for the organisers and the village that we were blessed with good weather. It is often forgotten the amount of hard work that goes in behind the scenes in getting fetes off the ground, and they really are a tradition that binds communities together.

"I was also delighted to see Barry, in his new role as mayor, opening the occasion, and I know Winchester is very lucky to have someone of his calibre in such a historic and prestigious position."
