Steve Brine joined members of the Winchester Health & Fun Club as they celebrated 30 years with a special anniversary dinner on Saturday 9th July.

The Winchester Health & Fun Club is a non completive sports & leisure club for the over 50s, with an emphasis on keeping healthy by playing sport for fun. Around 400 members enjoy a variety of activities, including tennis, racket ball, keep fit, bowls, aquacise, T'ai Chi and yoga.

Speaking the morning after the dinner, where Steve spoke about his work in Parliament, Steve said: "This is a wonderful club, and I suppose the proof is in the pudding when it is running after all these years.

"The wide range of activities really provides something for everyone, and I was honoured to be asked to go along and speak last night."

The club is based at the River Park Leisure Centre and meet from 10.00am - 2.00pm on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The club also arranges social events and matches against similar clubs around Hampshire.

Annual membership is just £10 plus a fee paid to the Leisure Centre (currently £2.50) for each morning's attendance. The Club is non profit making and is run by a Committee drawn from the membership.
