Steve Brine MP attended the official re-opening of part of Winchester Night Shelter as extensive building work has now been completed.

Joining Cllr Jamie Scott and the deputy mayor amongst others, WNS Patron Baroness Thomas of Winchester conducted the re-opening in front of assembled guests, staff and directors on Friday 15th July.

The building work has enabled the charity to expand bed spaces, create a new IT area and guest lounge and provide more office space for staff, which will help staff provide more effective resources with greater efficiency.

Speaking afterwards, Steve said: "I have admired the excellent work of Winchester Night Shelter for so long now, and it was an honour to be here today to see the result of all the work that has taken place.

"There were many people from across the charity sector here today, along with those who have a real stake in WNS, and I am sure that the completion of this work will be of great benefit to staff and guests alike."
