Steve Brine visited HMP Winchester on Wednesday 2nd May for a play with a difference.

The Accidental Imposter was adapted and performed by serving prisoners in conjunction with students from the University of Winchester, and was inspired by Accidental Death of an Anarchist, by Dario Fo.

The play, which had a full cast of both prisoners and students, was well attended, and contained a wider exploration of society, with performers examining different perceptions of police, politicians, government and media while rehearsing for the show.

Cast member Lee said: "I think I have gained a lot of confidence and I'm more comfortable talking to new people... thanks to Beth, Tom and all the students, and Roxy my mentor."

Karl added: "I have enjoyed my time on this project and have thoroughly enjoyed myself in all aspects of the performance. I have enjoyed immensely working with all the staff and students who have been wonderful to work with and also greatly helpful."

Local MP Steve Brine said: "It was fantastic to come along this evening and see the results of so much hard work, from the prisoners and the students. It really is great to see such a local partnership continue to flourish and full marks all round for a very enjoyable time."
