Dever Close site opening

Steve Brine attended an important phase of Winchester City Council's New Homes Delivery at the site opening of the Dever Close development in Micheldever on Thursday 22nd November.

 

The MP is delighted that a number of the new homes will be council properties, among the first for many years.

Speaking at the site, Steve said: "This is a cracking good news story. I've lost count of the number of times I've spoken with residents in these villages and they've told me their concerns for the next generation and how they will afford to stay in the community because of the very high house prices.

"This is part of Winchester City Council's response to that very real and very common situation and the fact half-a-dozen of these new houses will be council properties is just brilliant. I cannot wait to come back and see them finished."

The homes, to be completed by Drew Smith, are hoped to be completed by Christmas 2013.
