A group of Teg Down residents are celebrating after an intervention from their local MP resulted in their BT phone service being reconnected after almost three weeks.

The service had been cut in Wyke Mark, a quadrangle of apartments for the elderly on Dean Lane, and as well as several resident's phones being out of order, the manager's office, which contains the safety system, was also cut off.

Steve Brine contacted BT immediately, and happily, the problem was resolved swiftly.

Steve said: "I was very angry to hear about this, and to be frank this is by no means the first issue BT have had locally over recent months.

"I am, however, very pleased this has now been sorted and Wyke Mark residents now have some peace of mind."
