Steve Brine joined the new Mayor and Mayoress of Winchester, the Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor's Escort, alongside a range of local people as he attended the Mayor's Sunday Service in Winchester Cathedral on 19th May.
This year, the event, which includes a procession through the ancient cathedral, was held to coincide with Evensong in the afternoon, and the local MP was delighted to be able to take part.
Speaking afterwards, he said: "It was fantastic to see our new Mayor, Cllr Ernie Jeffs, at the Sunday Service, as well as so many familiar faces from across the city. It was a wonderful occasion, and as ever so fitting and exactly what we have come to expect.
"I am sure that the Mayor and Mayoress will have a fantastic year, and raise lots of money for their chosen charities, and I wish them both well."
