Local MP Steve Brine held a busy village surgery in Itchen Abbas last weekend (Saturday 11th January).

Steve was joined at the event, which was held in the village hall, by well-known councillor Kim Gottlieb. They met a large number of residents who came to discuss issues ranging from the local watercress industry, the Sunnybank development in Itchen Abbas, legal highs and local health services among other topics.

The Winchester and Chandler's Ford MP said; "I've been holding surgeries such as this for years now, and they are an important part of my work, sitting alongside the very different 'formal' surgeries I hold each week for constituents.

"They're about me being as accessible as I can to the people I represent and providing a place where they can get issues off their chest, ask me about the national picture, highlight a local problem or just pop in to chat with their local MP. Cllr Gottlieb and I picked up some extremely useful information, and took much away with us to work on as casework."

The pair were joined for the surgery by PCSO Michelle Wilkinson from Hampshire Police.
