Steve Brine met up with the Managing Director of Charters estate agents on Friday 30th May, and was given a full briefing on the local housing market.
The Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP was in Alresford, where he took time to meet with Rob Mott at Charters' Alresford branch, one year after they opened their doors in the Georgian town. After being shown around, Mr Mott told Steve about how they manage the branch alongside their Winchester office, before turning to the local housing market and their community work.
Mr Mott said: "This was a great chance to speak to Steve Brine, and we were grateful he could pop in on what I know was a busy day for him in Alresford. In preparation for the meeting, I was able to look at various statistics, including the Government's Help to Buy scheme, and was pleased to see that 25% of our New Build Home sales have used the help to buy scheme."
Steve Brine said: "I really appreciate Rob and his team taking the time to meet me and show me around. I remember when the office was Alresford Post Office, and I was struck by just how busy it was- I lost count at the number of people walking in!
"I was very interested to hear the local numbers, especially on Help to Buy, and these figures will be winging their way back to my senior colleagues in Parliament as we continue to help more and more young people onto the first rung of the property ladder."
Mr Brine spent the whole day in Alresford, meeting residents and businesses, as well as unveiling the new town clock.
