Steve Brine dropped into Compton Church of England Primary School on Wednesday 8th October, as he spent time with the children, staff and governors.
The school is led by Headteacher Allison Driver, and set on the charming Compton Street. As well as taking a tour of the school with the governors and Ms Driver, Steve also took the time to hold a lively Q&A session with some Year 6 children.
Steve said: "I've wanted to visit Compton for ages and knew I'd get a warm welcome from Headteacher Alison Driver but it was a real treat to have the hard-working chair of Governors, Simon Theobalds, and new parent Governor Charlie Percy there as well.
Steve said: "This is a lovely village school with a big site and they make good use of every inch of it from what I saw.
"There are many challenges for a small school and it was useful to hear some more about that from the team but there are advantages too and Compton is a bright example of a community Church of England Primary at its best.
"One of the best things about my job is getting the chance to talk directly with so many of the children when I visit schools and my Q&A session with Year 6 is one I will never forget. They are so keen and so excited. It was lovely and I have never been asked before whether my suits are itchy!"
