Afternoon tea was the order of the day this afternoon (Sunday 29 March 2015) as The Hilt said a massive thank you to all of the volunteers who have supported the community centre since its conception.

Local MP Steve Brine, and his daughter Emily, were asked along and spent several hours chatting with members of the HCA committee, local councillors and residents who'd come along to support the event.

Tea and cake (and much more besides) was laid on and Chairman, Richard Lansdowne, spoke about the reason for getting everyone together at this point to say thank you.

Steve said; "The greatest compliment you can pay to The Hilt is that I cannot remember a time when it wasn't there, so much it is now integral to the community in Hiltingbury. It was lovely to meet members of the current committee but also to see some old faces again who were involved when the original fundraising took place.  Huge congratulations to everyone for what remains an incredibly impressive acheivement.

"The family and I look forward to being back at The Rec this Summer for the Hiltingbury Extravaganza."
