Steve Brine was joined on the podium by a full slate, this time, of the other candidates, as the two hour event heard from all the candidates on their views on GP surgery appointments, the environment, housing and the problem with Eastleigh Borough Council's handling of the local plan, which leaves the area exposed to unwanted development from large companies.
Speaking after the event, Steve said: "I am hugely grateful to Churches Together for outing on this event, which allowed a fair hearing for all the candidates in front of a respectful and intelligent audience.
"After five years as the MP for Chandler's Ford, I saw so many faces I know in the crowd, and it was nice to be able to speak to a number of them, including regular correspondents, once the event formally closed.
"I know that Stephen Dominey, as well as Rev Peter Cornick and his team, will wish to join me in thanking Adrian Nance, who chaired the event, and I would like to extend my thanks to all the organisers and my colleagues on the panel for putting this on so successfully."
