Steve Brine dropped into Naomi House on Monday 7th September as he joined a families and members of the public touring the revamped Sutton Scotney hospice.

Hosted by Appeal Patron Alastair Stewart, of ITV News fame, over 100 guests saw for themselves how the hospice has been completely transformed after 19 months of continuous building work.

Naomi House, which first opened in 1997, saw the £4 million refurbishment project begin in February 2014 to ensure the hospice could accommodate the latest equipment and to create new space in which to care for the region's life-limited and life-threatened children.

During this time, children who ordinarily receive care at Naomi House stayed in specially converted rooms at the charity's sister hospice, Jacksplace, next door.

Speaking after the event, Steve said: "Naomi House is a world-class facility and it's right here in Winchester which is something we are all very proud of.

"The revamp is more than impressive and it was good to hear more from the team about the Caterpillar Appeal that made this possible and to see around."
