Following work from Steve Brine and Cllr Judith Grajewski, a number of 'unsuitable for heavy goods vehicles' signs have been put up in Hiltingbury.
The number of HGVs travelling through the area, in particular using Hocombe Road and Hiltingbury Road, has increased hugely over recent years, and Steve Brine has been working with Judith, the local Eastleigh Borough Councillor and Hampshire County Councillor, for many months now.
Cllr Grajewski said: "Our meetings and correspondence with council officers is starting to pay off and I'm pleased that the County Council has been sympathetic to residents' concerns.
"The new signs are certainly a step in the right direction, but the work goes on and I will be continuing to press for further measures to deal with traffic issues across Hiltingbury and Chandler's Ford."
Steve Brine added: "I am pleased our work to tackle the blight of big lorries on Hocombe and Hiltingbury Road has seen numerous signs popping up.
"I will continue to work with Cllr Judith Grajewski and keep constituents updated."
