On the morning of 22 September, the Dovetail Cafe was packed with customers of all ages for the grand re-opening, by local MP Steve Brine, following its extensive refurbishment.
Rev Peter Cornick welcomed the guests and said the attendance of these VIP's was an indication of how important the Dovetail Centre has always been and will continue to be in the community as a whole.
The Mayor of Eastleigh, Cllr Maureen Sollitt remarked on the friendly atmosphere of the Cafe and the importance of meeting each other and communicating. Rev Peter Cornick thanked those who had worked to achieve the transformation of the room and invited Steve Brine to cut the virtual ribbon and declare the Café open.
As he did so, Steve spoke about the importance to the local community of the Dovetail Centre - and to his work as the local MP. Rev Dr Andrew Wood spoke of the value of the Cafe and offered a prayer for its continuing work.
