Steve Brine took a look at the progress of construction at Brendoncare's new Otterbourne Hill site on Wednesday 27th September.
Building work started in October 2016, and Chief Executive Carole Sawyers asked Steve to visit so he could see how the project was going, and be briefed on what the facility will offer.
Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill is the first development of its kind in the UK, with a full range of services available for couples and families living with a dementia diagnosis, including apartments for couples, a specialist nursing and dementia care home. There is also a community hub to support those living at Otterbourne Hill and across the local communities.
Steve Brine said: "In Hampshire, around 20,000 people are currently living with dementia and this figure is expected to rise considerably. Having spoken to Carole on the site, I know that Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill will make a tangible difference to the lives of local people facing this terrible disease. I very much enjoyed being shown around, and look forward to seeing the important contribution the service will make to our community."
