Steve Brine dropped into Abbeyfield on Friday 12th January as he met with residents and took part in a varied Q&A session.

The Winchester MP spoke to a group of around 30 elderly residents, and said: "I was delighted to be asked to take part in this informal session, where we were able to relax and chat about a range of issues.

"We spoke about the pressing issues of the day, including Brexit, poverty, the NHS, our work on plastics, climate change and Donald Trump, as well as immigration and my life before becoming an MP.

"I really value this type on engagement, which is a chance to talk directly to my constituents away from the news media."

Beverly Elliott, General Manager of Abbeyfield, said: "This was an excellent opportunity for Steve to visit and meet with the residents. The talk was very lively as the residents and Trustees had some searching questions for Steve, particularly on Brexit, the future of the NHS and poverty home and abroad. We enjoyed his visit and hope to see him again soon."
