Steve Brine has welcomed news the Department for Education is to provide an extra £350 million funding to help those with complex needs to succeed in their education.

There will be further funding for specialist support and locally, Hampshire is set to receive almost £6 million over the next two years for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The Winchester & Chandler’s Ford MP said: “I know that Hampshire County Council is currently meeting the needs of more than 9,000 SEND children to help them achieve good educational outcomes and have a positive learning experience.

“In addition, over recent years there has been a 60% increase in children with SEND who require additional provision so I am very pleased to welcome this additional Government investment.”
