Steve Brine and Cllr Judith Grajewski have welcomed a new cycle and walking route which links Chandler’s Ford to Southampton.
The £1.14 million scheme will see a three metre wide, 2km-long off-road shared use cycle/footway along Hut Hill, linking Chandler’s Ford to Chilworth.
Steve Brine said: “I know that Hampshire County Council identified this as a major cycle route, and it is well-used with well over 200 journeys already being made each day. Linking to the top of The Avenue in Southampton is great news for Chandler’s Ford.”
Cllr Judith Grajewski said: "I was very pleased to give my support to this scheme when the proposal came up for decision at the County Council. Already a well used route, I hope even more people will be encouraged to leave the car at home and cycle or walk more often on the daily commute".
