Every Member of Parliament works hard around key transport issues that impact on the lives of their constituents and Steve Brine has led many campaigns to improve how we get around our area as well as travel to and from work.
He has successfully argued for major investment in the M3 motorway which saw, in 2015, resurfacing with new quieter material brought forward by more than five years for stretch between J9-14.
Steve has worked alongside residents arguing for improved junctions, better surfaces and safer crossings including; the 'Cart & Horses' A33 junction at Kings Worthy, Oliver's Battery / Badger Farm Road, Worthy Road in the city centre and Main Road in Otterbourne.
Furthermore, he has led calls for restrictions on HGV's using rural lanes - such as Hocombe Road in Chandler's Ford - and worked hard to flag the impact large lorries have on the centre of New Alresford.
Our hard-working MP maintains strong relationships with local bus operators, Stagecoach and Go South Coast, and has joined with constituents to protect services where they are threatened.
Many Winchester & Chandler's Ford constituents enjoy the convenience of flying from nearby Southampton Airport but it's important to manage aircraft noise and Steve Brine has worked closely with residents in Compton and Otterbourne over the years on the subject.
On top of all of this, the local train service has consistently been at the forefront of Steve's work as a constituency MP; whether that is campaigning for new services, improvements at Winchester Station, on-train wi-fi or holding South Western Railway (and before them South West Trains) to account.
